• StrikeMax Alacer Ant Gel Bait (0.05% indoxacarb) — for structure-invading household ants (not a fire-ant yard product).
• Extinguish Plus (hydramethylnon + s-methoprene) — for fire ants and other listed outdoor ants.
FLORIDA BASICS (do these first)
• Work dry outdoors. For Extinguish Plus, avoid application within ~24 hr of rain; don’t irrigate for 24 hr after; apply when ants are actively foraging (soil >60°F).
• Never spray repellent insecticide over or near baits (it stops feeding).
• Keep all baits away from kids/pets; prefer tamper-resistant stations if there’s access risk.

STRIKEMAX ALACER ANT GEL (indoor & around-structure trails)
A) WITH BAIT STATIONS (best where kids/pets can access)
Place stations directly on active trails and at entry points (doors, weep holes, utility penetrations, under appliances). Keep shaded/dry.
Load gel into the tamper-resistant station; close securely.
Check after 2–3 days, then weekly. Refill or move to fresh trails as activity shifts.
Keep stations off food/food-prep surfaces; use crack-and-crevice placements in those areas instead.
B) WITHOUT STATIONS (spots / beads / crack & crevice)
Indoors: Apply multiple small spots or short thin beads in cracks/crevices and out-of-the-way areas (under/behind appliances, baseboards, around pipe penetrations). Avoid routinely washed surfaces and all food-contact surfaces.
Outdoors (on/adjacent to the structure): Spot or short bead placements beside trails and at entry points; protect from sun/rain where possible.
Re-inspect in a few days; refresh any placements that are consumed or dried.
What to expect: Foraging typically drops within several days as workers share the gel through the colony. Reposition gel to follow new trails.

EXTINGUISH PLUS (lawns, landscape beds, commercial turf; fire ants and other listed outdoor ants)
A) WITH REFILLABLE BAIT STATIONS (perimeter/intercept)
Spacing: place 1 station every 15–30 linear feet along building edges/fence lines and near entry points/activity.
Amount per station: up to 1 oz (≈2 Tbsp) bait per station. Inspect often; replenish if soiled, wet, or consumed. Affix a contents sticker per label.
Moisture/timing: apply when ants are actively foraging; do not apply if rain is likely; do not irrigate for 24 hr after placement.
B) WITHOUT STATIONS
Broadcast (best for yard-wide pressure):
• Fire ants: 1.5 lb/acre (equals 3 oz per 5,000 sq ft) light, even scatter.
• Big-headed / Argentine ants: 1–2 lb/acre (equals 2–4 oz per 5,000 sq ft).
• Apply when ants are feeding (quick test: potato chip—if they recruit in minutes, it’s “go”). Minimum retreatment interval 30 days (pasture/rangeland: 90 days; max 8 lb/acre/yr). Keep bait dry; do not irrigate for 24 hr.Individual mounds (clean-up after broadcast or spot issues):
• Apply 2–5 level tablespoons per mound, in a ring around the mound. Do not disturb the mound. Keep dry.Indoors (non-food areas / inaccessible areas only):
• Apply 0.25–0.5 oz per crack/crevice/void. In unfinished attics/crawl spaces secured from children/pets, 0.25 oz per 100 sq ft.
What to expect: Colony decline starts about a week after feeding; complete collapse follows queen death. The IGR prevents rebound. Recheck monthly and rebait new/satellite colonies.

SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING (both products)
• Keep unprotected persons/pets out of the application area during treatment; use tamper-resistant stations where access is possible.
• Food areas: crack-and-crevice only; prevent contamination of food/utensils/surfaces. Remove any bait that contacts food surfaces and wash before use.
• Storage: keep containers tightly closed, cool, and dry; discard wet/soiled bait. Extinguish Plus is oil-based—use within ~3 months after opening.
Quick pick (where/what)
• Indoor sugar/trail ants: StrikeMax Gel spots/crevices; use stations in kid/pet areas.
• Yard fire ants: Extinguish Plus broadcast + mound treatments; or stations (15–30 ft; 1 oz each) along perimeters. Keep dry 24 hr.
